Product Manager – Headphones & Consumer Audio
Role Overview: The Product Manager (PM) for Zildjian and Vic Firth headphones and consumer audio products will bridge the gap between technology and business. Leveraging a strong technical background, this role manages the development and innovation of both existing and new product portfolios. The PM will oversee the entire product development lifecycle, ensuring products meet technical standards, remain competitive, and align with market trends.
Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain deep understanding of the consumer, category, competitors, and technology trends in the consumer audio market to drive ideation and innovation plans
- Develop and gain alignment to product roadmap, outlining timelines for feature releases and product updates to ensure delivery against long term business targets.
- Help define and communicate differentiated product features and benefits. Create technical briefs and specifications.
- Lead the cross-functional team and external vendors and partners through the product development process, from concept through commercialization to address technical requirements and constraints and deliver products on time and to specifications.
- Monitor and analyze product performance, user feedback, and market trends to identify opportunities and challenges; Manage the product lifecycle, including renovation, updates, and end of life planning.
- Serve as a liaison between technical and non-technical teams. Collaborate with Commercial team to provide training, sales tools, and commercialization support.
- In partnership with Compliance Consultant, Engineering, Sales, and Supply Chain, coordinate and manage compliance requirements
- Maintain library of product technical specifications and compliance documentation
- Maintain Monday boards, track deliverables progress, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and maintain detailed project timelines. Identify and mitigate risks, escalating and resolving issues as they arise.
Required Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in degree in electrical engineering, audio engineering, software engineering, or a related field.
- Must have strong technical experience with electronic hardware devices, including design, development, and testing processes. Familiarity with audio technology and user experience considerations is a plus.
- 5+ years’ experience working in a technical role with consumer audio products or wearable electronics devices with the ability to define and manage technical requirements.
- Proven ability to manage multiple, timeline-driven projects with strong organizational skills. High attention to detail
- Excellent communication and presentation skills for effective interaction with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels.
- A positive demeanor and the ability to remain calm under pressure. An ability to work effectively both independently and within a team.
- Competency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Experience with Monday.com or similar project management tools is a plus.
