An Ultra-High Net Worth (UHNW) family residing in Silicon Valley, CA, is seeking a dynamic House Manager to serve as the primary point of contact for managing all functions of the household overseeing the cleanliness, landscape, laundry, maintenance, and service members of the team. The ideal candidate is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in luxury hospitality management and/or professional household management. A successful individual will possess exceptional leadership, communication, organizational skills, and is detail oriented while remaining focused on the big picture. The House Manager will evaluate current procedures to create structure, standards, and identify areas of improvement. This is a live out position that requires flexibility and a willingness to work additional hours as needed.
Responsibilities:
● Manage the day-to-day operation, ensuring the house and landscape are impeccably maintained and always “show ready” for both the principals and high-profile guests.
● Discretion and the principal's privacy is paramount.
● Tend to the principal and guests’ requests, anticipating their needs.
● Meticulous keen eye for detail.
● Conduct daily property walkthroughs, making recommendations, and ensure all concerns are actioned to completion.
● Create and orchestrate daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual maintenance/cleaning schedules for all aspects of the property.
● Able to pivot and make daily adjustments to conflicting priorities, act with urgency.
● Execute various projects and renovations to meet deadlines within budget.
● Meet with the staff on a regular basis.
● Conduct staff performance reviews; House Manager will supervise housekeeping and nanny employees, along with possibly landscape employees who are under consideration to bring in-house vs as a vendor.
● Cultivate strong relationships with vendors and service providers, ensuring high-quality service.
● Become an expert in all systems of the house (some are newer, some may not be).
● Negotiate vendor contracts to maximize value and productivity, be the main point of contact for all vendor services.
● Assist in assessing financial needs, understand and control expenses.
● Update household maintenance and product manuals.
● Maintain household inventories and supplies.
● Event planning; coordinate with the Chef and outside vendors for flawless execution.
● Respond appropriately in the event of any emergency or safety situation.
● Perform other tasks or projects as assigned by supervisor and/or the principal.
Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Real Estate, or related field.
● Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in luxury hospitality and/or estate management or related roles within the luxury residential sector.
● Food & Beverage experience a plus.
● Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
● Strong self-awareness, know how to “read the room.”
● Proven track record in managing luxury operations and delivering exceptional service.
● Proactive and hands on approach, meticulously detailed.
● Valid driver’s license required.
● Tech savvy or experienced with smart home technology, wifi systems, etc.
● Ability to pass background check.
