Leap29 are currently assisting a client who is on the lookout for an Asset and O&M Manager eager to support their expanding operations in a dynamic setting. **Job Summary:**
Reporting to the Director of EPC and Operations, the Asset and O&M Manager will be responsible for overseeing the financial and operational management of solar power generation facilities. This role involves ensuring safe operational management, addressing technical issues, and maximizing net cash flow. The manager will also be responsible for generating detailed reports for each facility and coordinating communication with all relevant internal and external stakeholders.
**Essential Functions:**
- Manage asset management, operations and maintenance, and monitoring activities for our client’s operational assets.
- Execute asset management strategies to optimize the performance and reliability of assets, ensuring both immediate and long-term goals are met.
- Ensure timely completion of all reporting requirements for operational assets, both internally and externally.
- Evaluate asset performance and implement necessary measures to enhance revenue.
- Supervise and guide direct reports.
- Asset Optimization:
- Perform proactive predictive and preventive maintenance, along with technical performance analysis.
- Facilitate asset performance reporting and analysis of key performance metrics.
- Enhance corporate knowledge and operational awareness of solar power generation facilities through training, process improvements, and cost-effective technical upgrades.
- Contractual Management:
- Critically assess manufacturer performance evaluations.
- Investigate solar array downtime, performance metrics, and trends.
- Enforce warranties and contractual guarantees.
- Monitor and analyze key operations & maintenance provider metrics.
- Identify root causes of site abnormalities, implement corrective actions, and apply lessons learned.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives for operating assets.
- Provide feedback to enhance the development model.
- Manage warranty and contractual communications with customers, off-takers, OEMs, transmission providers, ISO/RTO’s, FERC/NERC, vendors, service providers, and other stakeholders.
- Promote a safety culture aligned with business goals, focusing on reducing days away from work and addressing high-potential incidents. The success of this safety culture is reflected in the attitudes and behaviours of the entire company.
**Qualifications:**
**Minimum Requirements:**
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- 7+ years of experience in asset management or operations/maintenance within a solar power plant environment.
- Extensive experience in operations or financial management, including contract administration.
- A self-motivated individual capable of working independently on projects, data analysis, and key deliverables.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with senior management.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with proficiency in presentations.
- Advanced computer skills, particularly with the Microsoft Office® suite (including Word®, Excel®, PowerPoint®, Project®).
- Willingness to travel, estimated at 10%.
**Desired Attributes:**
- 3+ years of supervisory experience with engineering, operations, and technical teams.
- Familiarity with enterprise-level hardware and software systems for remote data acquisition and control of solar power facilities, including CMMS and data analysis tools.
- Knowledge of environmental, health, and safety program management and requirements for power generation facilities.
