Summary
The Senior Lead Engineer, Hardware Design works with cross functional teams with other designers, customers, manufacturing engineering and project leadership to ensure robust and high quality product development. Enhance designs with feedback from reviews in areas such as manufacturing, test, reliability, industrial design and simulations. Provide support throughout the manufacturing process of the electrical/mechanical system that they have designed.
Detailed Description
Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:
- Analyze, Troubleshoot and Resolve technical issues reported by customers
- Reviews and interprets customer requirements and specifications and may act as primary customer contact.
- Analyze trade-offs in complex systems and recommend solutions.
- Design, modify and implement systems that meet customer and Celestica needs. E.g. creation of Schematics, Bills of material, diagrams, drawings, etc.
- Keep up to date with relevant industry knowledge and regulations
- Solve complex problems
- Liaison with suppliers, customers, contractors, and other internal teams.
- Analyze and interpret data and information
Knowledge/Skills/Competencies
- Deeply familiar with network switch architectures
- Deeply familiar with digital and analog circuits, High speed buses, Optical modules, AEC and DAC cables
- Ability to use test equipment such as, including but not limited to, Oscope, Bus analyzer, Network analyzer, Meters
- Ability to do basic soldering is required
- Working knowledge of and Ability to do SI and PI is highly desirable
- Working knowledge of scripting and Linux OS is highly desirable
- Working knowledge of Verilog and ability to program CPLD and FPGA devices is a bonus
