Mechanical Engineer, River Birch Renewable Energy Solutions

River Birch Renewable Solutions is seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to support the design, operation, and optimization of our cutting-edge renewable energy projects. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to high-impact initiatives in a rapidly growing industry, with the potential to grow into overseeing the facility’s mechanical systems and overall operations. The scope of work could involve systems supporting projects and facilities totaling up to $50 million, making this an exciting and pivotal position within a leading renewable energy company.
Job Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Mechanical Systems Design: Design, develop, and implement mechanical systems for renewable energy projects, ensuring efficiency and reliability.
2. Equipment Oversight: Manage the selection, installation, and maintenance of mechanical equipment, including turbines, compressors, and pumps.
3. Energy Efficiency Optimization: Analyze and improve system performance to maximize energy output and minimize mechanical wear and energy loss.
4. Project Support: Collaborate with the project management team to ensure mechanical components meet project specifications and timelines.
5. Troubleshooting & Problem-Solving: Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues to minimize downtime and ensure continuous operation.
6. Quality Assurance: Ensure that all mechanical installations comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental guidelines.
7. Cost Estimation & Control: Develop cost estimates for mechanical systems and manage project budgets to ensure efficient resource use.
8. Innovation & R&D: Stay up-to-date on the latest industry trends and emerging technologies to incorporate new solutions and innovations into the facility's mechanical systems.
9. Collaboration: Work closely with electrical engineers, project managers, and other team members to integrate mechanical systems into overall project designs.
10. Facility Operations Transition: Assist in preparing the facility for long-term mechanical operation, including system testing and ongoing monitoring strategies.
Requirements:
· Must have bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, with a focus on energy systems.
· Minimum of 10+ years of relevant experience.
· Ability to manage complex mechanical systems for large-scale industrial projects.
· Strong problem-solving skills and experience with troubleshooting mechanical issues.
· Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
