The Position:
We're looking for an experienced Civil Litigation Paralegal/Secretary to join our Las Vegas, NV-based legal team. This full-time position offers a hybrid work model, with occasional on-site work required. Ideal candidates will have experience in Construction Defect Litigation (developer representation) and General Casualty/Personal Injury, though recent litigation experience is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft and edit legal documents, including correspondence, pleadings, and discovery materials
- Prepare and submit documents for arbitration, mediation, and court proceedings
- Compile and organize exhibits for federal and Nevada court submissions
- Create tables of authorities and contents for Nevada filings
- Monitor attorney calendars, track filing deadlines, and assist with schedule management
- Process monthly expense reports for assigned attorneys
- Collaborate with billing department on monthly client invoicing
- Track and support attorneys' continuing legal education and bar admission requirements
- Coordinate travel arrangements for assigned attorneys
- Assemble document notebooks and proofread legal materials
- Conduct conflict checks and initiate new client engagements
- Maintain current knowledge of assigned attorneys' cases and projects
- Handle confidential and time-sensitive materials with discretion
- Perform additional administrative tasks as needed
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of litigation experience, preferably in Construction Defect Litigation (developer representation) and General Casualty/Personal Injury
- Proficiency in legal terminology and procedures
- Experience with electronic court filing systems, particularly Nevada state e-filing
- Familiarity with document management systems
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Word, and Outlook
- Ability to create tables of contents and authorities for Nevada filings
- Knowledge of state and federal court rules and filing procedures
- Trial preparation experience is beneficial
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and proofreading abilities
- Adept at multitasking while maintaining work quality and meeting deadlines
- Effective interpersonal skills and ability to work in a fast-paced litigation environment

The anticipated compensation for this role falls between $65,000 and $85,000 annually. While we expect to offer a salary within this range, the final figure will be determined based on several factors, including the selected candidate's expertise and background.
