Manufacturer is seeking an Applications Engineer. The Applications Engineer will work on multiple projects at a time and communicate heavily with sales, design and production, supporting a team-oriented culture. Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Create engineering concepts based on customer requests supplied by the sales team
- Determine estimates for production and create customer quotes for standard and custom equipment
- Assist purchasing in qualifying vendors
- Communicate with customers on quoting or estimate-related questions
- Determine final estimates, generate documentation and facilitate "kick off" of the project
- Run reports within the company's ERP system
- Utilize 3D modeling software for very basic layouts
- Visit customers as needed during the RFQ stage with sales and engineering team members
- Other duties as directed by management
Candidates should enjoy working in a team environment, collaborating with other engineers and working on multiple projects simultaneously. This position requires candidates to be detail oriented, flexible, have the ability to prioritize and communicate at multiple levels of an organization. REQUIREMENTS for the Applications Engineer:
1. Minimum of a high school diploma; a Bachelor's degree is highly preferred
2. Ideally 2-4 years in a similar engineering or estimator role
3. Strong mechanical aptitude
4. 3D modeling experience
5. The desire to work in an applications engineering position
6. Microsoft Office
Skills preferred but NOT required:
1. Experience working for an OEM or in machining environments
2. Skilled trades background
3. Experience with estimating and quoting
4. Solid Edge experience
5. Technical writing
