Job Title: Paralegal/Legal Assistant
Pay Rate: $36.05/hour
Location: Philadelphia, PA 19104
Hours: 9 AM – 5 PM, Monday – Friday (35 hours/week)
Join a dynamic team as a Paralegal/Legal Assistant! This role offers an exciting opportunity to provide litigation and administrative support across a broad range of practice areas, including disability, employment, consumer protection, family law, immigration, civil rights, and more.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist law students and clinical faculty with client representation and special projects.
- Utilize Microsoft 365, Adobe Acrobat, LegalServer, iManage, and other platforms to manage documents and correspondence.
- Maintain both electronic and paper case files, databases, and litigation calendars.
- Serve as a resource on court and administrative rules, assisting with pleadings and filings in municipal, state, and federal courts.
- Facilitate efficient communication between clients, students, and faculty, coordinating client meetings as needed.
- Assist with the transition and closure of client files, ensuring organized and thorough documentation.
- Coordinate with outside vendors, including interpreters and translators, to support clients with limited English proficiency.
- Handle incoming and outgoing mail and other law office duties as assigned.
Candidate Qualifications:
Required:
- Administrative office experience, including document formatting, calendar management, and filing.
- Tech-savvy with a high level of competency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
- Ability to handle confidential matters with discretion.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Experience working collaboratively and independently.
- A commitment to serving diverse clients and supporting students.
Preferred:
- Legal office experience (paralegal, legal assistant, or legal secretary).
- Familiarity with electronic legal case management software; training will be provided.
- Experience in state or federal court litigation.
- Background in preparing exhibits, organizing briefs, and researching civil procedure rules.
