Structural Biology and Biophysics – MARYLAND R&D CENTER
We are currently seeking a motivated and multi-talented biochemist/biophysicist at scientist, or senior scientist to join our team in Rockville, Maryland.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop novel approaches to screen for peptide binders for selected targets and carry out screens to generate hits
- Carry out biophysical and biochemical assays to confirm hits and participate in the hit-to-lead process
- Design expression construct in E coli, insect cell, or mammalian systems, and engaged in protein expression and purification
- Contribute to target ideas and assay design in collaboration with different functional teams
- Provide timely communication and presentations
REQUIREMENTS
- Ph.D. degree in biochemistry, biophysics, molecular biology or related areas with 5+ years of research experience. Post-doctoral experience is preferred but not required
- Strong experience in expression, purification, and biophysical characterization of proteins and strong experience in molecular biology such as RT-PCR, qPCR, etc
- Experience working on peptide, such as peptide production, peptide-protein interaction, is preferred
- Traits such as strong bench presence, attention to details, ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, good communication skills, and strong organizational skills are essential
