Job description
J-TEC in the US is looking to expand our local team in Houston, Texas, with an experienced project manager who possesses a technical background and strong interpersonal skills.
As a Project manager you are responsible for managing (inter)national projects for our clients. We work for industrial market leaders in the food and chemical industry. We execute projects up to 40 MIO euro, with an average implementation time of one to two years.
You combine detailed engineering with managing the execution of several projects, regarding the budget and planning. After fine-tuning the process P&ID, you determine the necessary suppliers, negotiate and purchase the process equipments.
Within the organization, you communicate directly with our different departments: mechanical design, electrical design, automation and construction.
You are the key figure in the realization of the project. You act as a single point of contact for your client and organize client meetings in different stages of the project, such as kick-off meetings and design reviews.
The Project Manager makes all the decisions that are in the interest of the project and ensure the optimal progress. Depending on the scope and content of the projects, the Project Manager supervises the various members of the project team.
Responsibilities
- Coordinates the project team
- Ensures compliance with the procedures during the project
- Informs management and the account manager involved about the progress of the project
- Controls and adjusts the project planning
- Controls and adjusts the budget and accounts for deviations and reports
- Does the project purchases in a maximally price-conscious manner
- Makes risk analysis, NFPA file
- Coordinates and decides on all engineering items of the project
- Coordinates the transport of the project
- Draws up the final punch list
- Signs the commissioning document
- Guarantee quality and safety throughout the project
- Suggest and negotiate contract variations, together with the Sales Engineer
Your profile
- You’re in possession of an Engineering degree (bachelor/master).
- You have broad technical interests, both practical and theoretical and have relevant experience in process engineering.
- An active license as Professional Engineer is a plus.
- You have good communication skills and you are fluent in English.
- Knowledge of PLC controlling systems is a plus.
- You are a team player with great organizational skills.
- You are independent, flexible and eager to learn.
- You are willing to travel on short trips for projects and a 2 month training session in Belgium.
