Job Summary
The HR Generalist is responsible for a variety of Human Resources functions at the plant located in St. Johns, AZ .Works collaboratively across HR Centers of Expertise (COEs) to ensure the effective delivery of HR services to employees.
Job Responsibilities
- Partner closely with the Talent Acquisition Team to facilitate employment processes including administering assessments, candidate testing, background checks, I-9 verifications, work permit expirations, onboarding, reporting, and ongoing communications.
- Welcome new hires on their first day and assist with onboarding activities.
- Respond to general inquiries regarding employment and time off policies, including vacation, sick leave, holiday, and leaves of absence (FMLA, Medical, Military, etc.).
- Educate and assist employees in using self-service tools like the Employee Service Center.
- Provide support to Employee and Labor Relations team during workplace investigations.
- Coordinate the retrieval of all SRP property from departing employees.
- Identify training and education opportunities on employee and labor relations topics and communicate these needs to the Employee & Labor Relations team.
- Facilitate employee development needs in collaboration with the Talent Development Team (TD) COE to deliver on initiatives including leadership development and sustainment activities.
- Serve as a liaison between employees and the Benefits Services team, by distributing benefit information, assisting new hires with their benefit selections, and responding to general employee benefit inquiries. Connect employees to the Benefits Services team when necessary.
- Facilitate employee benefit education by organizing virtual benefit orientations for new employees, arranging meetings, and coordinating travel for benefit vendors and Benefit Services team members visiting CGS for presentations and one-on-one financial advisor appointments.
- Collaborate with Talent Management COE to facilitate employee engagement.
- Develop strong partnerships with business leaders to foster a strategic alliance between the business and HR, driving HR success at CGS. Attend CGS leadership staff meetings to deliver presentations, share metrics, and provide insights on various topics.
- Maintain awareness of employee engagement and culture and engage the Human Resource Business Partner and HR COEs to help resolve potential challenges.

- Possess excellent customer service skills, coupled with the ability to build trust and rapport with employees across all organizational levels.
- Ability to collaborate across multiple stakeholders and strong knowledge of organizational processes and procedures with the ability to translate business needs to HR COEs.
- SHRM-SCP, SHRM-CP, PHR or SPHR preferred.
Job Qualifications
- At least seven years of Human Resources experience is required with advanced experience in employee and labor relations and talent acquisition preferred.
- In-depth knowledge and application of federal, state and local labor and employment law and regulations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field required
