We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Sr. Manager, EUC Engineering & Security to join our dynamic IT team. This role is integral to ensuring that our end users have the optimal and secure computing experience to support their productivity and success.
Job Summary: The Sr. Manager, EUC Engineering & Security is responsible for overseeing the strategy, design, implementation, and management of end-user computing solutions. The ideal candidate must also possess a deep understanding of desktop security practices and vulnerability management. This role involves leading a team, managing technology deployments, and driving improvements in end-user experience.
Additionally, this individual will have a strong technical background, experience ensuring compliance with HUB cybersecurity processes and policies, exceptional leadership skills, and a passion for optimizing end-user environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Management:
- Lead and mentor a team of End User Computing professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
- Develop and implement team goals, performance metrics, and professional development plans.
- Manage vendor relationships, service contracts, and third-party support resources.
Strategic Planning:
- Define and execute the end-user computing strategy, aligning with the company’s overall IT strategy and business objectives.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends to drive innovation and continuous improvement in end-user computing.
Technology Management & Implementation:
- Oversee the deployment and configuration of end-user devices, including desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and peripherals.
- Ensure that all end-user computing solutions are secure, reliable, and meet organizational standards.
- Manage the lifecycle of end-user devices, including procurement, deployment, maintenance, and decommissioning.
- Devise and oversee end-user computing standards.
Support and Optimization:
- Develop and maintain comprehensive support processes to ensure high-quality service delivery and quick resolution of end-user issues.
- Monitor and analyze end-user computing performance and satisfaction, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions.
- Collaborate with IT support teams to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
Security and Compliance:
- Ensure end-user computing solutions adhere to security policies, standards, and compliance requirements.
- Implement and manage security measures, including endpoint protection, data encryption, and access controls.
Desktop Protection & Management
- Oversee the deployment and configuration of desktop security solutions, including antivirus software, firewalls, and encryption tools.
- Monitor and manage desktop systems for vulnerabilities, security breaches, and compliance with security policies.
- Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments.
Communication and Collaboration:
- Serve as a key point of contact for end-user computing-related matters, effectively communicating with stakeholders at all levels.
- Collaborate with other IT teams and business units to ensure seamless integration of end-user computing solutions with other IT systems and services.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. A Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., ITIL, PMP) is a plus.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in IT, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role managing end-user computing environments.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT Security, with at least 2 years in a managerial or leadership role focused on desktop security.
- Strong technical knowledge of end-user computing technologies, including operating systems, hardware, software, and mobile devices.
- Proficiency in security frameworks, protocols, and best practices.
- Proven experience in managing and leading teams, with excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic plans, manage projects, and drive continuous improvement.
- Solid understanding of IT security practices and compliance requirements related to end-user computing.
- Experience with ITSM tools and methodologies, such as ITIL, and knowledge of current industry trends and technologies.
- Relevant certifications, such as CISSP, CISM, CEH or equivalent are highly desirable.
Although hybrid Chicago is preferred, this role may consider remote candidates.
