We are seeking a Sourcing Specialist to oversee the procurement of materials, services, and supplies considering costs, quality and delivery with established strategic procurement commodity strategies.
This individual will assist the development and deployment of commodity/supplier sourcing strategies and will be responsible for supplier sourcing, assessment/evaluation, price negotiations and supplier transition management. This position will take an active role in the escalation process for critical items.
This is a 12+ months contract opportunity with longer-term potential.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Participates in the implementation and maintenance of product cost reduction programs.
- Responsible for sourcing, new product introduction, identification and alternate source qualification of high-risk components and other assigned commodities.
- Administer the programs used to monitor on going performance of suppliers ensuring materials achieve required metrics.
- Assist buyer/planners in reviewing open contracts and in on going negotiations
- Administer formal RFQ program, supplier performance, feedback and supplier certifications.
- Partner with supplier quality engineering to drive supplier quality improvements through the supplier corrective action processes.
- Collaborate with engineering to support their purchasing requirements new design and improvement projects.
- Participate in and support the continuous improvement activities.
- Maintain supplier contracts, information and pricing data in the ERP system.
- Analyze market and industry conditions and material costs to develop supply recommendations to meet on going strategic procurement objectives.
- Provide guidance and training to departments and company personnel in procurement procedures, methods, and administration of requirements.
Education, Skills, and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or related field or equivalent with 5–8 years relevant experience (purchasing agent, buyer, commodity buyer)in manufacturing environment producing complex electro-mechanical products with direct responsibility for sourcing, contract management &supplier negotiations; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
- Deep analytical expertise in data management (MS Excel& ERP/Management Systems)
- Low-Cost Country sourcing experience
- Knowledge of contract writing, supply agreements, procurement policies and procedures.
- Ability to establish work priorities and effectively manage a wide variety of projects.
- Self-starter, results-oriented with good organizational and project management skills.
- Knowledge of logistics/transportation management as they pertain to sourcing and supplier management.

Work Environment / Physical Demands:
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. using proper lifting techniques. Personal protective equipment may be required in some areas. Position duties will primarily be indoors.
Salary Range:
$50/hr. - $60/hr.
