Overview:
Our client is committed to a zero-carbon, sustainable future, and as the Process Safety Management Director, you will play a key role in this mission. This position is responsible for ensuring the safety of people, optimizing production processes, and leading the development and implementation of the Process Safety Management (PSM) system across North America.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of PSM systems across all North American pellet operations.
- Provide process safety support, ensuring that engineering standards are met during the design, construction, and operational phases.
- Identify and mitigate process safety risks, ensuring safe operating protocols and preventing catastrophic incidents.
- Conduct hazard identification, risk analysis, and facilitate process safety audits and compliance investigations.
- Collaborate with teams to track action items, implement safety recommendations, and drive long-term process improvements.
- Oversee Management of Change (MOC) processes and ensure completion of related action items.
- Lead and mentor operational teams to establish a strong PSM culture across multiple sites.
- Engage stakeholders in Process Hazard Analysis and incident investigations, driving continuous safety improvement.

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
- 5-10 years of experience in plant or process engineering, project design, or technical services.
- Proven expertise in PSM implementation across multiple sites and leading incident investigations using root cause analysis.
- Strong knowledge of process hazards, risk studies, and mitigation strategies.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to drive culture change.
Travel:
- 70% travel required across North American operations.
