Title: Project Manager – Student ERP Discovery
Duration: 12 months
Location: Boston, MA (Hybrid)
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience managing IT projects, preferably in higher education or with enterprise systems like Workday.
- Strong understanding of student information systems (SIS) and their role in enhancing the student experience.
- Proven experience managing or integrating with Banner ERP systems
- Familiarity with Financial Aid regulations, processes, and systems.
- Proficiency with project management tools and methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, etc.).
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally.
- Experience managing technical teams and vendors.
- PMP or other relevant project management certification preferred.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Prior experience with Workday Student or other student information systems.
- Familiarity with higher education processes and requirements.
- Hands-on experience with Banner ERP, especially in Financial Aid operations and data management.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Ability to lead and motivate others, demonstrating empathy and knowledge of personality types
- Familiar with project management methodologies (for example, PMI and agile)
- Demonstrated sensitivity to working in a political environment and to interacting with senior leadership
- Knowledge of project planning tools
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; expertise in setting and managing customer expectations
- Effective influencing and negotiating skills in an environment where this role may not directly control resources.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of business needs, with the ability to establish and maintain a high level of customer trust and confidence.
- Good understanding of current and emerging technologies and how other enterprises are employing them to drive digital business
- Experience with academic IT environments and knowledge of the specific security needs of educational institutions is a plus.
