As a Payroll/Tax Consultant, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing various aspects of payroll processing for our clients and providing expert advice and guidance on payroll-related matters. Your expertise in Rippling will be essential ensuring that taxes are correctly calculated and annualized. Specific responsibilities will be determined based on the client needs, but may include:
Responsibilities:
- Manage end-to-end payroll processing for employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Set up and manage new pay types within Rippling, ensuring correct tax calculations and annualization.
- Calculate and process payroll deductions, including taxes, benefits, and garnishments.
- Maintain and update employee payroll records, including salaries, overtime, bonuses, and commissions.
- Reconcile payroll discrepancies and resolve any issues or errors.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in payroll regulations and tax laws to ensure compliance.
- Provide guidance and support to clients on payroll-related inquiries.
- Collaborate with the HR department to ensure accurate and timely employee onboarding, offboarding, and changes to employment status.
- Prepare and distribute payroll reports, including tax filings, year-end reports, and W-2 forms.
- Assist with the implementation and optimization of payroll systems and software.
- Conduct audits of payroll procedures and recommend process improvements.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
- Certification such as CCP (Certified Payroll Professional) or similar (preferred).
- 5+ years of hands-on payroll and tax
- In-depth knowledge of payroll procedures, regulations, and best practices.
- Extensive experience with Rippling, particularly in setting up and managing pay types.
- Strong understanding of tax laws and compliance requirements.
- Experience with payroll software and HRIS systems
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Location: While many clients are based in Southern CA, location requirements may vary. Roles could be remote, hybrid, or onsite, depending on client needs.
