firstPRO is hiring Consultant Desktop Engineer that will use their expertise in Microsoft Intune, SCCM, application packaging, deployments, imaging, and inventory control to enhance and manage desktop environments. This role requires close collaboration with clients to understand their needs, design tailored solutions and provide ongoing support to ensure the efficient operation of their IT infrastructure.
This is a 6+ month contract to possible hire opportunity. This opportunity has a hybrid work model which requires two days onsite weekly in Newark, DE.
Responsibilities
- Design, manage, and deploy application packages through SCCM and Intune, ensuring accurate configuration and seamless distribution across client environments.
- Create and maintain desktop images for various operating systems, ensuring smooth deployment to new and existing systems while following client specifications and best practices.
- Oversee and maintain inventory systems for both software and hardware, ensuring precise tracking and timely updates to keep inventory data current.
- Administer the patch management process, ensuring timely deployment and validation of updates. Produce detailed reports on patch compliance and any related issues.
- Partner with clients to understand their IT needs, offering expert recommendations and ongoing support to enhance desktop environments.
- Maintain thorough and clear documentation for processes, configurations, and deployments, ensuring it is easily accessible for future use.
- Identify and resolve complex issues involving hardware, software, or network components to ensure desktop environments function smoothly.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience in a desktop engineering role, with a focus on Intune and SCCM for environment management and deployment.
- Technical Skills:
- Expertise in managing and deploying applications with Microsoft Intune and SCCM.
- Skilled in creating and deploying desktop images.
- Proficient in software and hardware inventory management.
- Ability to generate and interpret reports related to patch management.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate) are an advantage.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, effective communication, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
