Purpose and Scope of Position
This position is accountable for providing support to Facilities for both building and groundskeeping projects and general maintenance, while also supporting other projects and teams within Corporate Services.
This position reports to the Facility Coordinator.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Assist with maintenance of the grounds including landscaping, Snow removal, parking lot, patios, trash and recycling areas.
• Assist with maintenance of the facility including floors, ceilings, interior and exterior walls, lighting, electrical, plumbing and HVAC.
• Assist on special projects such as in-depth cleaning jobs, painting, light carpentry, etc.
• Assist with maintenance of all facility and shop equipment including appliances, tools, shelving, desks and storage.
• Collect and dispose of trash and recycling.
• Operate powered tools and hand tools to perform maintenance tasks such as Drill & Driver, rake, shovel, pruning shears and basic hand tools.
• Operate powered Equipment such as lawn mower, blower, trimmer, snow blower and other related grounds maintenance equipment.
• Perform certain cleaning tasks and disinfection of equipment.
• Perform general grounds clean-up, including picking up paper and trash around grounds; cleaning and pressure washing all areas of the property.
• Follow all necessary safety protocols and regulations.
• Take on odd jobs and report emergencies as they arise.
• Greet and offer assistance to staff when needed.
• Treat people fairly, consistently and with respect.
• Keep work area orderly and clean and maintain a positive attitude.
Basic Qualifications
• 1+ years facility experience (or equivalent experience in trades) preferred.
• 1+ years landscaping experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Requires basic knowledge of landscape maintenance, building systems, carpentry, and mechanical equipment.

• Good organizational skills and attention to detail.

Physical Requirements
The physical demands described here commonly used and must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Other requirements could apply.
• While performing the duties of this job, it is regularly required to talk or hear, and must be able to lift up-to 75 lbs., bend, climb, stand for duration of shift, etc.
• Ability to successfully pass a DOT Physical
