Organizational Description
The Community Health Center Network (CHCN) is a partnership between eight health service organizations in Alameda County, whose mission is to provide a comprehensive range of professional health care services in a manner respectful of the community values and traditions. CHCN is a nonprofit corporation, serving as an agent for its member health service organizations. CHCN provides administrative support to the Alameda Health Consortium (AHC).
Position Title: Senior IT Systems Administrator
Department: Information Technology
Reports To: Chief Information Technology Officer
Classification: Exempt
Status: Full-Time, Hybrid
Location: Candidate must be willing to have primary residence in California. For licensing and tax purposes, we are unable to hire candidates residing outside of the state of California starting on the date of hire.
POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for the technical operations and maintenance of CHCN Data Center and network connectivity with special emphasis on managed care system services.

Duties:
Systems Administration Duties
Data Center and Network Systems (50%):
- Responsible for technical operations, maintenance and troubleshooting of Data Center. This includes the servers, local area network, internet, VOIP, SFTP, fax, security, and e-mail systems. Provides work direction to vendors and consultants.
- Responsible for proactive system monitoring of systems, server, and data center environment.
- Responsible for performing backups of network operating systems and data, critical applications, and data reporting systems and ensures safekeeping of the backup data.
- Responsible for security and access control of IT systems, solutions, and partners.
- Provides escalation level troubleshooting of service desk issues surrounding printing, telephone, voice mail, SFTP, electronic faxing systems, and other systems.
Managed Care Services System (25%):
- Responsible for technical operations, maintenance and troubleshooting of the EZ-Cap MSO Hardware/ OS/ DB Systems and its Web Services.
- Assist in assigning user access to the MSO System and related applications.
- Assist in running daily electronic data interchange and nightly reports.
- Support data exchange procedures with providers and other external customers.
Planning and Project Implementation Duties (10%)
- Responsible for researching and providing recommendations for current and future data center needs, including hardware and software, building in flexibility to accommodate changes in technology to avoid obsolescence.
- Participates in contract negotiations to purchase systems or equipment.
- Able to lead the design and implementation of selected IT projects.
- Supports capacity planning and considers scalability of IT projects/processes.
Other Duties & Administrative Roles (15%)
- Conduct basic help desk and PC/network training at an individual and group level.
- Performs miscellaneous Support Tasks include supporting Administrative projects and IT special projects.
- Meets regularly with the IT team to discuss system problems, plan for future system changes, and provides updates on IT developments/problems.
- Maintains database of IT inventory and documentation of server upgrades, patches, and configurations.
- Through trainings, research, readings and other methods, be knowledgeable of latest trends, discoveries, and information
- related to computer technology, networking, electronic communications, internet, and systems and procedures analysis.
- Participates in special internal committees as requested.
- Performs other duties and projects as requested by the CTO.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Proven 4-7 years experience in an system administration role.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Customer-focused with a commitment to providing high-quality service.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Education
- Bachelor's degree from a four year college or university preferably in computer-related field; three years of server administration or network administration experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Knowledge of
- System Administrator knowledge of Microsoft Networking Operating Systems and familiar with Active Directory; Including Windows server, MS Exchange Server configurations and setup.
- Basic knowledge of MS-SQL Server database maintenance.
- Knowledge of internet/Web communications protocols and software/hardware.
- Experience in Cisco SASE and Cisco Meraki
- Experience in Nutanix hyperconverged environment
- Preferable knowledge of MSO computer applications, particularly of EZCAP
- Preferable knowledge of MS Teams voice system.
- Range of hardware and software and their practical applications in a clinical environment.
- Basic management principles and techniques to aid in overall CHCN problem solving, planning and organization.
Skill in
- Ability to quickly troubleshoot hardware and software problems
- Basic LAN administration in Windows Server, Active Directory, and MS Exchange Server
- Demonstrating excellent interpersonal and communications skills, both oral and written.
- Independently conduct web research and troubleshoot issues
Ability to
- Work standard hours, and occasionally flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Work under pressure and in a team environment.
- Exercise sound judgment within scope of authority and practice.
- Strong interpersonal skills required.
- Travel locally to data center for installations, troubleshooting, etc.
