Equipment Technician
Summary:
The Equipment Technician is responsible for the preventive maintenance of equipment used in the manufacturing process to ensure the successful execution of production activities all in accordance with the high industry standards and within manufacturing timescales.
Responsibilities:
- Report the equipment status and related anomalies/corrective actions to the Equipment Engineer.
- To respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests and critical equipment failures. Take appropriate actions to minimize downtime and mitigate production losses.
- To assist in installation, testing, and commissioning of new equipment and machinery. Support plant expansion projects and technology upgrades.
- Ensure equipment operates smoothly and efficiently within manufacturing requirements.
- To perform troubleshoot faulty equipment, execute repairs, and replace broken components proficiently.
- Execute daily/monthly Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Improve equipment performance, minimize equipment downtime, and make recommendations for equipment improvements.
- Maintain a safe working environment.
- Additional related duties may be assigned based on business requirements.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma.
- 2+ years of cognitive and vocational experience in handling machine and machine parts.
- Knowledge of mechanical maintenance processes.
- Critical thinking ability to troubleshoot and detect malfunctioning.
- Discipline to execute tasks without procrastination.
- Good time management to work at a good pace, executing word orders and demands.
- Ability to handle basic tools.
- Strong knowledge of safety precautions.
- Ability to illustrate general maintenance requisite and simple procedures for manufacturing equipment.
- Ability to work well with others in a collaborative environment.
