Global company is in search of a Packaging Engineer within the Hackettstown NJ area. This is an exciting 6 month contract role with a major food industry leader. Candidates must have 2-5 years CPG packaging development experience with a BS Degree in a related field. We have are seeking candidates that have working experience flexible films, line trials, paperboard, corrugated materials and have capable understanding of both flexible FFS and horizontal flow wrap equipment.

Responsibilities:
· Leads development of 'fit for purpose 'packaging platforms that are designed to maximize desirability/feasibility/viability.
· Strategic Cell Leadership Team member. Influencer for cell core growth and innovation projects. Also responsible for ideating and realizing strategic cell value leadership goals.
· Develops detailed packaging specifications to ensure quality materials and best value for money on all packaging components used at our facilities, co-packers and co-manufacturers.
· Initiates, coordinates and executes line trials at appropriate supply locations to confirm that quality attributes and performance metrics are achieved.
· Manages packaging suppliers to ensure proper execution of projects and recommends/qualifies new ones when appropriate.
· Coordinates the creation of high-quality prototypes to gauge consumer desirability, influence teams and support customer collaboration.
· Collaborates with global counterparts to spot opportunities for scale, ensure sharing of best practices and coordination of key activities.
· Managing and measuring work for themselves as well as Packaging Engineers on Strategic Cell activities
