A leading paving and asphalt contractor is looking to appoint a HSE Manager to be based at one of their production plants near Colton, CA. You will be responsible for overseeing the HSE program at the plant and other associated operations within the company portfolio as required.
The Role:
- Undertake job-site inspections, accident investigations, audits and training as deemed necessary
- Work closely alongside the Corporate HSE Director in analyzing safety metrics & KPIs at a pant level, identifying trends and utilizing results to address safety priorities across the business
- Keep up to date with any and all legislation change from industry regulators e.g. Cal OSHA / MSHA - ensuring compliance to all industry related standards
- Identify and implement opportunities for improving the HSE culture within the business through coaching and mentoring, of all leaders and employees
- Act as a support function for field employees, offering insight on any HSE issues or queries that may arise
The Candidate:
- Around 7-10 yrs hands-on HSE management experience in working within a construction materials, aggregates or similar industrial environment (asphalt emulsion exp. is desirable)
- Bachelor Degree in either Occupational Safety, Environmental Engineering or related field (preferred)
- Proven experience working alongside federal/local industry regulators e.g. Cal OSHA, EPA, MSHA
- Based near Colton, CA and happy to travel as required
