Akkodis is seeking a Welding SME Engineer for a Direct Hire position with a client located in Chandler, AZ. To be considered for this position you must have experience the development and qualification of robust welding processes for new and existing products.
Pay/Salary Range: $120,000/yr - $140,000/yr.
Welding SME Engineer job responsibilities include:
Development and Qualification of Welding Processes
Primary responsibility will be to develop and qualify welding processes for new and existing products. This will involve parameter definition and optimization, as well as documentation. You will work closely with the New Product Development and Production teams to ensure that the welding processes meet our quality standards and comply with industry standards such as AWS D17.1, D17.2, and C7.4.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
You will be responsible for ensuring that our welding processes and standards are in compliance with industry regulations and can withstand scrutiny from customers. Your expertise in welding and your ability to communicate complex technical content in a simplified manner will be crucial in this aspect of the role.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering or a related field.
Strong analytical skills and practical application of Design of Experiments.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Knowledge of industry standards such as AWS D17.1, D17.2, and C7.4.
Ability to present complex technical content in a simplified manner for customer review and acceptance.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master's degree in Welding Engineering or a related field.
Experience in defending welding practices in customer audits.
Previous experience mentoring and educating engineering teams.
Strong knowledge of joint design and definition.
Proficiency in welding software and tools.
