Inventory Management
- Lead and mentor a team of operations staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement
- Oversee the implementation, optimization, and ongoing maintenance of cloud inventory system
- Demonstrate proficiency in leveraging of E-commerce tools such as demand planning, supply chain optimization
- Develop and monitor key inventory metrics, including stock turn, days of supply, and carrying costs
Sales Forecasting and Demand Planning
- Develop and implement sales forecasting models, incorporating historical data, market trends, and seasonal factors specific to the tea industry
- Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to align forecasts with promotional activities and new product launches
- Utilize predictive analytics to anticipate market shifts and adjust operational strategies accordingly
- Conduct regular forecast accuracy assessments and implement continuous improvement measures
Strategic Buying Initiatives
- Collaborate with the Procurement Director to develop and execute strategic buying plans that align with sales forecasts and operational capabilities
- Analyze market trends, pricing data, and supplier performance to identify optimal purchasing strategies
- Implement a robust supplier evaluation and selection process, considering factors such as quality, reliability, and sustainability
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure favorable terms and priority access to premium tea varieties
Additional Responsibilities
- Optimize production schedules and workflows in collaboration with the Production Manager
- Oversee compliance with legal importing regulations and customs requirements
- This role will work closely with owners, operations, marketing, sales teams team, and warehouse personnel.
- Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to enhance efficiency
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and prepare regular reports for senior management
- Lead and mentor a team of operations staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement
- Analyze and optimize financial ratios related to operations and inventory management
- Develop and implement cost of goods sold (COGS) strategies to maximize profitability while maintaining product quality
- Collaborate with finance team to ensure accurate costing and pricing of tea products
Required Qualifications
- Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or Supply Chain Management
- 3+ years of experience in operations management, preferably in the specialty beverage or import/export industry
- Proficiency in cloud-based inventory systems, particularly modules related to inventory management, supply chain operations, and managing costs
- Proven track record in sales forecasting and demand planning, with demonstrable success in improving forecast accuracy
- Management experience supporting warehouse teams in person and managing dynamic remote teams in supporting the culture and cultivating a positive work environment
- In-depth knowledge of inventory management systems and best practices
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
- Expected to work in our headquarters in Chicago 3 days a week
Compensation & Benefits: Up to 100k plus bonus, medical/dental, 401k with match, hybrid schedule, PTO plan and flex hours
