Eleven Recruiting is hiring an experience Buyer for one of our largest aerospace manufacturing clients sitting onsite in Simi Valley, CA. In this role, you will be responsible for strategically managing a diverse vendor base to ensure long-term relationships that maximize value for both parties. Additionally, you will identify and research manufacturing methods and supply chains for various components, providing valuable design-for-manufacturability feedback to engineering teams.
Responsibilities:
- Performs complex purchasing activities, including negotiating terms, contracts, and pricing with suppliers, ensuring efficient delivery of services.
- Establishes source selection criteria for evaluating quotations, including target pricing, and makes decisions regarding purchase orders.
- Implements formal contractual documentation into purchase orders, ensuring compliance with corporate and government requirements.
- Resolves discrepancies between purchase order requirements and supplier performance, initiating corrective action as needed.
- Maintains accurate purchase order data in the purchasing system and analyzes bid results.
- Strategically manages a diverse vendor base, researching manufacturing methods and supply chains for various components.
- Provides design-for-manufacturability (DFM) feedback to engineering teams and ensures material demand fulfillment.
- Develops commodity strategies, reviews MRP (SAP) order action messages, and negotiates prices and deliveries.
- Cultivates vendor relationships to ensure competitive pricing and superior service quality.
- Skillfully manages purchase orders, monitors deliveries, and responds to customer requests.
- Actively monitors supplier scheduled ship dates, expediting when required, and maintains accurate shipping information.
- Establishes and maintains professional relationships with suppliers, addressing issues associated with purchase orders and agreements.
- Understands and adheres to specific customer part certification requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
- Minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience in procurement or supply chain management.
- Strong experience negotiating license contracts with a track record of success.
- Proficiency in SAP, Excel, and other relevant procurement software.
- Knowledge of the principles and practices of procurement in an aerospace/manufacturing environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and database management tools.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal), with the ability to drive tasks to completion
