Role Overview:
As a Platform Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining platform infrastructure. You will work with Kubernetes, VMware, and Linux systems to ensure high availability, scalability, and performance of applications and services. Your expertise will help streamline operations and drive continuous improvement in the infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and Implementation: Architect, build, and manage scalable and highly available infrastructure using Kubernetes, VMware, and Linux.
- Configuration Management: Develop and maintain configuration management scripts and tools to automate deployment and operational tasks.
- Monitoring and Optimization: Implement monitoring and alerting solutions to ensure system health and performance, and optimize infrastructure for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Troubleshooting and Support: Provide technical support and resolve issues related to the platform infrastructure, collaborating with other teams to address complex problems.
- Security and Compliance: Ensure infrastructure is secure and compliant with relevant standards and best practices.
- Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation for infrastructure configurations, processes, and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 3+ years of experience in a platform engineering or similar role, with a strong focus on Kubernetes, VMware, and Linux.
- Kubernetes: Proven experience with Kubernetes architecture, deployment, and management.
- VMware: Solid understanding of VMware products and virtualization technologies.
- Linux: Expertise in Linux systems administration, including performance tuning, security, and scripting.
- Scripting Skills: Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Perl.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to solve complex technical issues.
- Collaboration: Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
- Certifications (Preferred): Relevant certifications such as Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), VMware Certified Professional (VCP), or similar.
