The Opportunity
We're seeking an experienced Head of Product Marketing to spearhead our consumer-focused product marketing efforts across our portfolio. In this high-impact role, you'll:
- Drive product positioning and messaging for AI-powered features in a B2C context
- Lead consumer research initiatives using the Jobs to Be Done framework and other cutting-edge methodologies
- Influence product vision and strategy at the executive level, focusing on enhancing the consumer experience
- Develop and grow our user community, including our innovative Insiders program
- Contribute to the development of AI-assisted shopping experiences that resonate with consumers
- Build and lead a high-performing product marketing team focused on B2C excellence
You'll report directly to the CEO and play a pivotal role in shaping the company's overall marketing and product strategy in the competitive e-commerce landscape.
What You'll Do
- Develop and execute comprehensive B2C product marketing strategies across all Demand.io products
- Lead in-depth consumer research to inform product development and marketing strategies
- Create compelling positioning and messaging for AI-driven, community-powered products that speak directly to consumer needs
- Design and implement strategies to grow and engage our user community in the competitive online shopping space
- Collaborate with AI and machine learning teams to translate complex capabilities into user-centric marketing narratives that resonate with consumers
- Drive data-informed marketing decisions through qualitative and quantitative consumer studies
- Build, mentor, and lead a team of product marketers focused on B2C excellence
- Represent Demand.io's product marketing practice at industry conferences and in thought leadership content, establishing our brand as a leader in consumer-focused AI shopping solutions
- Collaborate with the executive team to align product marketing efforts with overall business strategy in the fast-paced e-commerce sector
- Oversee the development of marketing collateral, sales enablement materials, and product launch plans tailored for B2C audiences
A Day in the Life
As Head of Product Marketing at Demand.io, you might:
- Review insights from a Jobs to Be Done study on SimplyCodes users, identifying key consumer pain points and opportunities
- Meet with the AI team and product managers to discuss new features and plan marketing strategies that will excite and engage online shoppers
- Collaborate with the CEO on positioning for Product.ai's upcoming beta launch, focusing on how it will revolutionize the consumer shopping experience
- Mentor your team on developing impactful go-to-market plans for new consumer-facing features
- Present new positioning concepts to the executive team, influencing product strategy based on deep consumer insights
- Analyze the performance of recent B2C marketing campaigns and adjust strategies to improve consumer engagement and conversion
About You
Must-Haves:
- 10+ years of experience in B2C product marketing, with at least 3 years in a leadership role focused on consumer products
- Strong background in consumer research methodologies, including Jobs to Be Done framework and other innovative approaches
- Experience marketing AI-powered products or features directly to consumers
- Proven track record in developing effective product positioning and messaging for complex, technical products in consumer markets
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence at the executive level and translate technical concepts for consumer audiences
- Experience building and leading high-performing marketing teams in fast-paced B2C environments
Nice-to-Haves:
- Experience leading community engagement or ambassador programs in a B2C context
- Expertise in marketing conversational AI or chatbot interfaces to consumers
- Background in e-commerce or consumer fintech marketing
- Publications or speaking engagements in B2C product marketing, particularly related to AI or e-commerce
- Advanced degree in Marketing, Consumer Behavior, or related field
Compensation & Growth Opportunity
At Demand.io, we align individual success with company performance:
- Competitive base salary: $180,000 - $250,000 DOE
- Equity: 0.5% - 1.0% initial grant in a $100M valuation company
- Partners Program: Our profit-sharing system (additive to core comp package)
- Substantial cash bonuses tied to company performance
- Potential to earn multiples of base salary through monthly profit-sharing
- Rewards exceptional performance and long-term commitment
The Partners Program provides increasing rewards as Demand.io grows. Eligibility typically begins after 3-6 months, with increasing bonus percentages as you advance through Partner levels.
