This position performs a variety of administrative support duties and delivers high-quality services to internal and external clients. The position Supports three Partners in IP litigation, business litigation, and probate litigation and requires thorough knowledge of Business Litigation. The scope of responsibilities includes prioritizing, managing, and following through on multiple projects, and communicating effectively, courteously, and professionally with clients, attorneys, staff, and peers.
Job Duties:
- Electronic filing in state and federal courts as needed
- Manage assigned attorneys’ calendars, dockets, and appointments
- Transcribe dictation and compose and prepare confidential correspondence, reports, and other complex litigation documents as needed
- Screen incoming calls and correspondence and respond as necessary
- Maintain and complete attorney monthly time entry and billing
- Maintain client files in DMS (Netdocs) as well as the physical file
- Provide back-up support to other legal assistants as assigned or needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required, a bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Litigation Legal Assistant.
- Strong knowledge and experience of state and federal court e-filing procedures, e-discovery, and trial preparation.
- Ability to handle heavy workloads efficiently and accurately.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills when interacting with attorneys, staff, and clients.
- Ability to multi-task and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong command of Microsoft 365
