Job Overview:
The IT Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining both network and systems infrastructure. This includes troubleshooting and resolving issues related to servers, workstations, firewalls, routers, switches, and other related technologies. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure a seamless and secure IT environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Configure, monitor, and maintain network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
- Troubleshoot network connectivity issues and ensure network availability.
- Implement network security measures (firewalls, intrusion detection systems, etc.).
- Optimize network performance and reliability.
- Install, configure, and maintain operating systems (Windows, Linux, etc.) on servers and workstations.
- Manage and support virtual environments (VMware, Hyper-V, etc.).
- Perform regular system backups, updates, and patches.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure uptime.
- Implement and manage security protocols to protect systems and network data.
- Respond to security incidents and breaches.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with security standards.
- Provide technical support to internal users and departments.
- Collaborate with other IT staff and vendors on infrastructure projects.
- Document network and system configurations, processes, and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Proven experience in network and systems administration.
- Familiarity with network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP), and security practices.
- Experience with system administration (Windows Server, Linux, etc.).
- Certifications like CCNA, CompTIA Network+, or MCSA are a plus.
