Role Description
This is a full-time hybrid role for a Legal Secretary/Paralegal at Caputo & Van Der Walde LLP. The role involves tasks such as legal document preparation, diary management, and utilizing clerical skills to support attorneys. While the role is primarily based in our Campbell, CA office, some remote work is acceptable.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients in completing necessary paperwork.
- Organize and maintain case files.
- Calendar and track case deadlines and ensure timely filing of documents.
- Coordinate with medical providers to obtain and review medical records and bills.
- Prepare legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and discovery requests/responses.
- Draft, file and serve complaints, summons, and other court documents.
- Assist attorneys in preparing for trials.
- Perform clerical duties: phones, scheduling appointments, and managing calendars.
- Handle billing and timekeeping for case-related activities.
Schedule
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Flexible start time

Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Paralegal Studies or related field.
- Paralegal certification from an ABA-approved program is preferred.
- Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in personal injury law.
Requirements
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and QuickBooks
- Tech Savvy (Macintosh, Zoom)
- Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy in legal documents and case files.
- Understanding of legal terminology, procedures, and the litigation process.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
