Job Title: Safety Manager
Location: Buffalo, NY
Duration: 12 Months (Immediate Start)
Type: 1099 Contractor
Compensation:
- Hourly Rate: $47 hr - $50 hr
- Completion Bonus: $150/month
- Pay: Weekly
Schedule:
- Hours: Monday to Friday (40+ hours)
Project Scope:
Installation of multiple electrical services on two sites. Fire alarm, building management systems, communications, security systems throughout. Will be dealing with scaffolding, fall protection, confined space, lockout/tag out, hot work, GFCI, and excavations.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in construction and electrical safety
- Certifications: OSHA 500 and/or BCSP (CHST/ASP/STSC, or CSP)
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
- Ensure their employees attend jobsite orientation before start of work on the project.
- Take the lead in recognition and abatement of hazardous situations.
- Conduct a daily "Safety Huddle" prior to the start of each shift and submit a Daily Pre-Task Plan (PTP). Report each morning prior to the start of work.
- Perform and document weekly safety inspections ( 1 per week at minimum).
- Conduct at least one monthly safety tour with their Safety Director and submit findings to the GT.
- Ensure that Competent Persons submit, at a minimum, the below listed safety inspections at the designated frequency to the GT's Project Superintendent or Safety Manager.
- Conduct and document toolbox meetings on a weekly basis.
- Issue minutes of the weekly toolbox meeting to GT.
- Effectively utilize and train employees in pre-planning, recognition, and remediation of hazards.
Skills:
- Familiarity with Stark Tech and recordable safety forms
- Excellent public speaking and communication abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and multitasking.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- OSHA outreach training experience is a plus.
- Confidentiality and professionalism in handling sensitive information.
Knowledge: Strong understanding of construction safety and industry regulatory standards in construction, with the ability to communicate these effectively.
Work Environment:
Primarily in construction settings. May require after-hours work or occasional weekends in response to emergencies.
