(Senior) Research Associate, Histology - Perm - Palo Alto, CA
Proclinical is seeking a dedicated and skilled Senior Research Associate, Histology to join an innovative biotech team. This hands-on role will provide technical histology support for multidisciplinary teams, both internal and external.
Primary Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be highly involved in the day-to-day histology operations, supporting research activities under the supervision of a Scientist and Histology Hub Lead.
Skills & Requirements:
- Degree in Biological Science or a related discipline.
- Practical experience with standard histology techniques in a research environment.
- Extensive knowledge in the processing of human and laboratory animal tissues.
- Knowledge and experience of immunohistochemistry techniques and other methods of tissue-based expression analysis. e.g. in-situ hybridization.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and multitask across multiple projects.
- Highly organized and self-motivated.
The (Senior) Research Associate, Histology's responsibilities will be:
- Manage day-to-day histology operations, including set-up and breakdown of routine histology equipment.
- Perform microtomy, cryotomy, embedding, manual routine and special histological stains.
- Support research activities under the supervision of a Scientist and Histology Hub Lead.
- Maintain accurate records in inventory and sample tracking software systems.
- Operate laboratory equipment, prepare reagents, perform experimental procedures, record and consolidate research data.
- Follow safe laboratory procedures set by the company.
