Adden Energy is developing solid-state batteries for automotive and consumer applications and is located in the Boston Area. Our technology is based on leading research from Harvard University and our team is backed by prominent venture capital investors.
We are looking for a Battery Engineer to join our growing technical team and work to scale our technology. As a key member of our team, you will make a substantial impact on the company’s future and set the stage for how we build batteries for years to come as we work to make a positive impact on climate change.
What you get to do:
- Conceive and implement strategies to scale up Adden’s battery manufacturing, delivering on its potential to be a class leader in automotive energy storage.
- Develop methods and tools to quantify and improve Adden’s battery performance
- Prioritize and organize company’s research and development activities
- Communicate with battery scientists and prepare routine materials or new formulas for battery assembly
- Improve upon a high-performing, innovative and fast-moving company culture
What you bring to this role:
- Master’s degree in chemistry, material science, engineering or related field or equivalent experience
- Enjoyment working with solid-state or lithium-ion batteries at pouch cell scale
- Ambition to build a distinctive product and disrupt an industry with large incumbents
- A desire to hold your own in a fast moving environment alongside highly technical peers
- A desire for hands-on work in a laboratory environment
- A passion for product development, technology scale-up, and clean energy
Our ideal engineer will possess:
- Previous experience establishing and working with pilot lines for battery technologies
- A history of synthesizing and testing sulfide-based solid state electrolytes
- A deep understanding of batteries and solid-state electrolytes
