We are hiring a Merchandising Trend Specialist in Apparel for a top fashion company in New York, New York. Role is temp to perm.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain client relationships through the delivery of notable information, business intelligence and overall guidance to support clients in achieving their objectives.
- Continuously and proactively review and analyze clients’ existing needs and future opportunities
- Pre-market assortment development and in-market line review
- New product launch strategy
- Brand positioning
- Category based sales performance: Track shifts in category performance and analyze top selling styles
- Promotional strategies: Liaise with clients on developing product promotions, merchandising, and marketing concepts.
- New brand opportunities: Identify new and innovative brands for retail clients
- Pricing strategy
- Digital and e-commerce strategy
- Shop the market, analyzing product offering to assess relevance for specific client needs and objectives
- Build and maintain digital skillset in alignment with evolving industry best practices
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree (Merchandising, Marketing or Business is preferred)
- 5+ years of industry experience in retail, fashion, wholesale and/or other relevant areas
- Expertise and prior experience in Women’s Apparel is required; experience in juniors and/or contemporary is a plus
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint and
- Excel
- Experience in and ability to build compelling PowerPoint decks
- Travel as needed to visit client locations, tradeshows, and retail trips
