Hartley Law, closely associated with Stenson Tamaddon, is seeking a skilled Litigation Attorney with trial experience to handle tax refund cases in the federal courts. This role involves managing a high volume of claims, primarily small-dollar disallowances of refunds, where the IRS's denial reasons are objectively incorrect.
In addition, this position will work closely with outside counsel on high-value claims and complex litigation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Litigate tax refund cases in the US District Court or US Court of Federal Claims
- Manage a high volume of cases efficiently and effectively.
- Provide legal assistance to clients on a contingency basis.
- Recover legal fees under the Equal Access to Justice Act (EAJA), 28 U.S.C. § 2412.
Requirements:
- Proven trial experience.
- Strong litigation skills.
- Ability to handle high-volume case loads.
- Expertise in tax law and refund litigation is preferred.
