Job Title: Senior Interior Designer, (Team Lead)

Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Interior Designer to join a luxury residential design team in New York City. The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of experience in the luxury residential market, demonstrating a deep understanding of high-end design principles, aesthetics, and the ability to manage multiple complex projects from conception to completion. The Senior Interior Designer will be responsible for leading design projects, managing a team, and working closely with clients to create elegant, functional and inspiring spaces.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design Leadership: Lead and manage luxury residential design projects, from initial concept through to completion, ensuring all design work aligns with client expectations and company standards.
- Project Management: Oversee all phases of the design process, including concept development, space planning, design development, material and furniture selection, and final installation.
- Team Management: Manage and mentor a team of multi disciplinary designers and support staff, fostering a collaborative and creative work environment. Provide guidance and feedback to ensure the team produces high-quality work.
- Client Relations: Build and maintain strong client relationships, effectively communicating design concepts, project progress, and any changes. Ensure client satisfaction by delivering projects on time and within budget.
- Software Proficiency: Utilize Studio Designer, AutoCAD, and Adobe Creative Suite to develop design plans and presentations. Ensure all design work is accurately documented and coordinated with other team members, vendors and consultants.
- Design Standards: Ensure all design work reflects a deep understanding of current trends and design sensibilities in the USA luxury residential market. Maintain a strong attention to detail and uphold the highest standards of quality and craftsmanship.
- Budget Management: Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring all design decisions align with financial goals. Negotiate with vendors and suppliers to secure the best possible pricing for materials and furnishings.
- Compliance: Ensure all projects comply with local building codes, regulations, and safety standards. Familiarity with NCIDQ standards is preferred.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or a related field. (NCIDQ certification preferred but not necessary).
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in the luxury residential interior design market. At least 3 years of experience in management, project management, and team management.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Studio Designer, AutoCAD, and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) is required.
- Portfolio: A strong portfolio that demonstrates a refined knowledge of luxury residential interiors, showcasing aesthetic sensibilities, creativity, and an understanding of the U.S. design market.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively present design concepts and ideas to clients and stakeholders.
- Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to think critically and solve problems creatively, particularly in fast-paced environments.
