We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Legal Secretary to support attorneys in our Energy and Finance group in the Atlanta office at Eversheds Sutherland (US) LLP. We are searching for someone who wants to be a valued contributor and member of a talented and dynamic team of lawyers, paralegals and business professionals.
The Legal Secretary will support a wide spectrum of individuals and should be able to handle diverse practices, be a team player, and be a liaison between the clients and the attorneys. The Legal Secretary will have project management skills, proofreading skills, word processing skills, organizational skills and a strong attention to detail.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Drafts, edits, and files client documents (electronic and paper) and related correspondence per attorney(s) revisions, etc.
- Handles time entry for assigned attorney(s).
- Prepares conflicts checks and opens new matters.
- Coordinates project management of attorney(s) matters and cases.
- Manage attorney(s) calendars, schedule appointments, and coordinate meetings.
- Coordinates travel arrangements and prepares travel reimbursement requests and all other reimbursement requests in a timely manner and in accordance with Practice Group procedures and accounting deadlines.
- Coordinates client conferences, luncheons and in-house meetings.
- Maintain and organize client files, both electronic and physical.
- Assists fellow workers and/or other attorneys as needed and requested.
- Keeps abreast of what is happening on assigned attorney’s clients’ matters and knows location of materials concerning those matters.
- Obtains research materials as required by attorney(s) or paralegal(s).
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- A Bachelor’s degree is preferred from an accredited college or university.
- Eight to ten years of experience working in a legal department, law firm, or professional services organization. Energy, Finance or Litigation experience is preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills are required. Must have the ability to present ideas in a business-friendly and user-friendly language.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and have the ability to multi-task and prioritize workloads.
- Excellent computer skills and knowledge of MS Office Suite, Excel, and Power Point is required. Experience with Aderant, InTapp, and ChromeRiver software programs is highly preferred.
This is a hybrid role and will require on-site presence 3-4 days per week. Salary is commensurate with years of relevant experience & geographic location. The range for this position is $55,000-$80,000.
