The Research & Development Chemist will support the Laboratory Department in developing formulation expertise while solving customer needs. The incumbent will work in a laboratory environment and have exposure to many different technologies including but not limited to industrial lubricants, sealants and thread compounds.
Essential Functions:
- Design experiments, prepare, apply, test, and troubleshoot various lubricants, sealants and thread compounds, as well as create specifications and requirements in the industrial market
- Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of lab work and results
- Present technical information and materials to peers inside and outside of the organization
- Interact with peer chemists, technicians, field sales/service, manufacturing teams and customers
- Work effectively in a collaborative team environment supporting current and future customers with their lubricant needs
- Create and manage formulations and instructions based on lab and production batch data
- Understanding of ASTM methods used for testing grease
- Add rework
- Work with QC team to have proper test specifications and methods.
- Other duties as assigned by your supervisor
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering
- Two years of experience with Grease Formulation
- Previous formulation and laboratory experience, working closely with customers and supporting their industrial lubrication, sealant, or thread compounds.
- Understanding of industrial lubricants
- Ability to effectively design industrial lubricants, sealants, and thread compounds
- Ability to work collaboratively across all functions internally and externally
- Strong oral and written communication skills
