Job Summary:
Our client is seeking a Database Application Developer who will develop and maintain databases across the organization, while ensuring high levels of data availability. This opportunity is located in Walnut Creek, CA!
Duties:
- Evaluate and advise on all technology components, such as software, hardware, and networking capabilities, for database management systems and applications
- Design and deploy data table structures, forms, reports, and queries
- Conduct research and make recommendations on database products, services, protocols, and standards in support of procurement and development efforts
- Identify inefficiencies in current databases and investigate solutions
- Diagnose and resolve database access and performance issue
- Plan and coordinate data migrations between systems
- Develop, implement, and maintain change control and testing processes for modifications to databases
Desired Skills/Experience:
- Expertise in MySQL, Oracle, Database Migration, and maintenance
- Proficiency in Configuring Web Servers (e.g., Apache, Nginx) to ensure seamless integration with PHP following upgrades
- Ability to identify and resolve compatibility issues between different PHP versions and Red Hat 8, ensuring smooth system functionality
- Strong knowledge of PHP and its dependencies, including experience with specific extensions and libraries used in the application
- Skilled in reviewing and updating Python and Shell Scripts to ensure compatibility with Red Hat 8, including updating libraries and system paths where necessary
