A large medical manufacturing client is looking to hire a new leader onsite in Sumter, SC. This role has responsibility for the designated product line including setting goals, making decisions, and driving accountability toward department objectives in the designated Manufacturing Unit. This individual will need to ensure compliance with quality systems, policies, procedures and best practices are met while managing all production, processes, and people in this organization.
Responsibilities:
- Accountable for the achievement of key strategic, operational and functional goals.
- Developing and mentoring the manufacturing unit to empower results focused on production, associates capability development and ownership.
- Coordinates and drives all activities within the manufacturing unit and sets priorities.
- Responsible for developing and leading the manufacturing unit’s budget and headcount levels.
- Coordinates the establishment and communication of challenging SQDC goals.
- Translates manufacturing unit targets into lines / areas / workplaces and ensures that each associate understands what is expected from them with documented individual, specific and measurable targets.
- Initiates and champion change to ensure that short and long term SQDC goals for the lines / areas under responsibility are being met.
- Resolves issues in the line and for the manufacturing unit in a timely manner, while displaying servant leadership.
- Runs the TMS cycle for the lines/areas and sets the 24-hour direction for the manufacturing unit
- Does yearly performance reviews of the team and ensures every individual has an active development plan in place and does regular 1:1s with each team member to review performance and help them to grow.
- Leads DTM activities being responsible for creating of DTM work processes (e.g. CIL, CL etc.)
- Facilitates Excellence implementation within the manufacturing unit.
- Collaborate with Logistics to establish production schedules, monitor delivery performance versus schedule.
- Ensures regular, timely, and accurate assessments of hourly associates are delivered through mentor activities.
- Works with associates to resolve issues and concerns; involves HR when needed.
- Builds their own mastery in the operation, people management and BD Excellence.
- Spends more than 50% of the time on the production floor overseeing activities within the manufacturing unit.
Must Haves:
- BA/BS Degree in Science, Industrial management, Business, Engineering or a related field required
- 5- 7 years of manufacturing experience in a highly automated environment
- 3 - 5 years of people leading experience
Salary of $100K or so depending on experience
