Job Title: Aircraft Ground Repositioning Coordinator (AGR)
Job Summary: As an Aircraft Ground Repositioning Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and timely movement of aircraft on the tarmac. This position involves operating ground service equipment, coordinating with air traffic control and ramp control, and performing essential pre- and post-move safety inspections. You will work outdoors in various weather conditions and handle multiple aircraft systems to facilitate efficient aircraft repositioning.
Responsibilities:
- Operate various aircraft systems, including auxiliary power units, electrical, hydraulic, and braking systems.
- Communicate with air traffic control and local ramp control to reposition aircraft on taxiways and runways.
- Aid in securing and supporting aircraft in remote locations using ground service equipment (e.g., power units, air stairs, ground power units, tugs, pushback tractors, lavatory trucks, deicing trucks).
- Operate terminal jet bridges and perform pre- and post-move safety inspections.
- Update and log all tug moves in the database.
- Perform all ground and airport job functions as requested and adhere to safety guidelines.
- Guide aircraft to and from designated locations and operate external aircraft equipment.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Diploma.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Ability to complete and become certified as an Aircraft Repositioning Brake Rider within 6 months of hire.
- Successfully complete Aptitude test certification.
- One (1) year of aviation experience (e.g., airline or airline service provider experience).
- Valid Driver License from your state of primary residence.
- Aircraft brake riding experience.
Preferred Skills:
- Ability to follow safety guidelines and perform under pressure with fixed time constraints.
- Experience with basic computer applications (e.g., word processing, email).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience using handheld radios and headsets for communication.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English effectively.
- Ability to adhere to uniform and appearance standards.
- Flexible with working hours, including holidays and weekends.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
- Ability to work in various weather conditions.
- Standing for extended periods and performing moderate physical activity (handling objects up to 50 pounds frequently and 70-100 pounds occasionally).
- Required to work in the ramp area of the airport terminal.
- Operate handheld radios, LED screens, and ground operations equipment.
- Potential need for flexible hours and short-notice response.
