Position Overview:
The Senior Accountant will play a critical role in managing and enhancing our financial operations. This individual will be responsible for overseeing general ledger activities, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with other departments to support business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and adherence to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- General Ledger Management: Oversee and maintain the general ledger, including reconciliation of accounts, journal entries, and month-end close processes.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts, providing insights and analysis to support strategic decision-making.
- Internal Controls: Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Audit Support: Coordinate and assist with internal and external audits, preparing necessary documentation and responding to audit inquiries.
- Expense Management: Review and approve expense reports, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to company policies.
- Process Improvement: Identify and recommend improvements to accounting processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Team Leadership: Provide guidance and support to junior accountants and finance team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior or supervisory role, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or Oracle) and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
- Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple priorities, work under pressure, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
