Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join their team as a Purchasing Director. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the procurement process, ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services for our organization.
As the Purchasing Director, you will be the key liaison between our company and suppliers, negotiating contracts, and managing vendor relationships to achieve optimal pricing and delivery terms.
You will also be responsible for analyzing market trends and identifying potential cost-saving opportunities. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with various departments within the company to ensure that purchasing requirements are met and budgets are adhered to.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing purchasing functions, possess excellent negotiation skills, and possess strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Responsibilities
- Develop and implement purchasing strategies aligned with company goals and objectives.
- Source and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiate contracts, and secure competitive pricing and terms.
- Monitor and analyze market trends, keeping abreast of changes that may impact purchasing strategy.
- Collaborate with various departments to determine purchasing needs and ensure timely acquisition of goods and services.
- Establish and maintain strong vendor relationships, resolving any issues or disputes that may arise.
- Oversee the entire procurement process, from requisition to delivery, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Analyze and evaluate supplier performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
Requirements
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in purchasing or procurement, preferably in a leadership role.
- Excellent negotiation and contract management skills.
- Proficiency in using procurement software or ERP systems.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Professional certification such as Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) preferred.
