Job Description:
- The Associate Medical Director, Schizophrenia has responsibility for the design and execution of US Medical Affairs Schizophrenia initiatives (i.e., medical education programs, advocacy initiatives, evidence dissemination, and evidence generation).
- Strong collaboration with internal and external business partners including regulatory, brand marketing, Real World Value & Evidence (RW V&E), Client Research & Development, Global Medical Affairs, epidemiology, clinical investigators, advocacy organizations, and key external experts. Responsibility for pharmacovigilance, medically important results assessments (MIRA) evaluations, promotional review committee assignment, label revisions, speaker and sales representative training, and other similar activities. Support training to meet current and future business needs of the franchise, as well as contribute to creating a work environment that engenders the company's commitment to equal employment opportunity and the value of a diverse work force. Adherence to project budgets and timelines, the safety and privacy of research participants, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations
Responsibilities:
- Serve as a disease area scientific and medical expert and resource for internal audiences
- Provides clinical and scientific leadership through interaction with internal and external experts, including:
- Partnership across Medical Affairs, RW V&E, JRD, Brand Marketing, Regulatory Affairs, Global Medical Affairs, New Business Development, J&J Corporate Communications, and J&J Legal, field based Medical Affairs personnel
- Education strategy and oversight of implementation of medical education and product training activities targeted towards Health Care Providers (HCPs)
- Scientific engagement activities such as advisory boards, symposia, and congress activities
- Medical responsibility for schizophrenia related department sponsored evidence generation related activities, ensuring SOP/compliant handling
- Provide coaching/mentorship for other Medical Affairs team members
Experience:
- Role can be Hybrid, or Remote (should sit in EST)
- This title in the market could be a Medical Affairs Associate or Specialist
- This role DOES NOT require a Medical Doctor, although a MD could be considered but it is NOT required
- Candidates should have a Doctorate, PhD, or PharmD
- Will be monitoring trials, regulatory affairs, etc with competition
- Will be responsible for Action Plans after meetings
- Working with Communications Team
- Must have at least 3 years of experience
- Will help establish a process (how to select the process, the team, etc)
Skills:
- A minimum of 3 years professional experience obtained in clinical practice, industry and/or academia is required
- Schizophrenia, Psychiatry, or Neuroscience related training &/or experience is preferred
- Understanding of US healthcare dynamics is strongly preferred
- The candidate must have a mindset of prioritization, impact, decisiveness, and a sense of urgency
- Clinical field experience is required
- Psychiatry experience would be extremely preferred
- Need someone who can execute and advise on processes and plans
Education:
A minimum of an MD/DO/PhD/PharmD or equivalent doctorate is required
