Tiello has partnered with a highly successful Construction Team in the Wet Utility Construction Industry, in the greater Orange County area, on their search for a Chief Estimator (Wet Utilities).
As a Chief Estimator for the team, you will have the opportunity to lead project estimating teams for wet utility, water, sewer, storm, and underground pipeline-related projects, located in Southern California, build relationships with Clientele, and help the team continue to be a leader in the region.
You will be responsible for managing an estimating team, ensuring the completed estimate meets required deadlines, includes accurate quantity takeoffs and pricing.
Title: Chief Estimator (10+ years)
Project Types: Wet Underground Utilities, Water, Sewer, Storm, Private, Underground Pipelines
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Review proposal specifications, drawings, attend pre-bid meetings, etc. to determine the scope of work and required contents of estimate
- Responsible for managing an estimating team comprising of various discipline leads, ensuring the completed estimate meets required deadlines, includes accurate quantity takeoffs and pricing.
- Organize estimating team to prepare bids, oversee vendor, and subcontractor selection and ensure cost-effectiveness of bids.
- Lead estimating teams in pre-construction efforts and GMP development on CMAR and Progressive Design-Build projects.
- Monitor client changes and advises the estimating team of all changes in scope during the estimated period
- Attend pre-bid walkthroughs.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- BS in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Civil Engineering or similar is a preferred
- 10+ years of experience as previous roles as Chief, Lead or Senior Estimator for reputable Civil Contractors will be strongly preferred.
- Experience estimating Wet Underground Utilities, Water, Sewer, Storm, Private, Underground Pipelines projects
- Strong work ethic, team player with strong attention to details and ability to work independently
- Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, mathematical and sound judgment skills
