As a Health and Wellnenss Director you will: - The Director of Health and Wellness Nurse (DHW) supports the Resident Services Director (RSD) to provide clinical oversight to wellness team and ensuring delivery of quality care to all residents.
- DHW oversee and monitor the activities of nursing personnel and engages in a variety of procedures in the units through maintaining compliance of federal and state regulation and guidelines in accordance with the policies and procedures of the community.
- Assist in the preparation of reports, responsible for assigned data collection, review of all investigations of incidents and accidents.
- Oversees the infection control program.
- Assist in staff education on areas of improving nursing care, safety issues etc. Responsible for assisting the RSD with budget and regulatory compliance.
- Responsible for the management and coordination of the Memory Care Neighborhood where each of the residents has a diagnosis of dementia with a loss of cognitive functioning
- Support, upholds, and maintains the Mission and Philosophy of the organization and serves as a role model of the community in a positive manner and in all business interactions within the community and to the outside community. Demonstrates loyalty and pride in the community, its associates and departments
- Respects and safeguards the confidentiality of information regarding residents/clients, co-workers and the community, and holds others accountable to the same standard.
- As a leader within the organization, projects a professional and caring demeanor in interactions with residents/clients, family members, visitors, co-workers and subordinates.
- Exhibits financial responsibilities, insuring budgetary guidelines are met. Leaders are accountable for their associate's use of equipment, supplies and other materials with a focused effort to reduce waste and costs.
- Sets an example by demonstrating an attitude of teamwork when interacting with others within or outside the community. As such, consistently displays respect for self and for others in manner (body language, dress), word (spoken language) and action (behavior).
- Takes ownership of job responsibilities by initiating prompt and appropriate action/follow-up in all areas. Insures appropriate and timely resolutions to situations.
- Exhibits resourcefulness and Initiative in anticipating and meeting the needs of residents/clients, co-workers and subordinates in a pro-active manner. Encourages and empowers subordinates to perform in the same manner.
- Welcomes suggestions and new ideas as an opportunity to learn, grow and improve service
- Promotes and supports the change effort through accurate and timely communication, flexibility and acceptance.
- Aligns community/departmental goals and objectives with the overall strategic plan of the organization.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required skills and qualifications: - 2-3 years of clinical experience/leadership in Assisted Living/Memory Support.
- Licensed Nurse (Registered Nurse preferred) with current state licensure.
- High degree of integrity.
- Strong communicator and capable of leading change.
- Ability to multi-task and is able to prioritize projects and deadlines concurrently.
- Must be proficient in electronic health records, Point Click Care experience preferred.
- Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with residents, family members, visitors, government personnel, the general public and staff face-to-face and over the telephone.
- Must function independently and demonstrate flexibility, personal integrity and the ability to work effectively with residents, staff and support agencies with diverse backgrounds.
- Must demonstrate patience, tact and have a cheerful disposition with residents, and staff of the community.
- Must demonstrate the ability to work harmoniously with professional and non-professional staff members.
- Must undergo a Criminal Background Check in accordance with state regulations and/or the policies of the community.
