The role…
The Safety Specialist is responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining safety programs to ensure a safe working environment. This role supports the improvement of to all aspects of Weidmann’s safety program and conducts training, inspections, administration program management, project management, and VOSHA/OSHA compliance.
How you’ll make an impact…
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of current legislation, OSHA regulations, and compliance standards.
- Develop, implement, and update safety policies, procedures, and training programs, including 5S standards.
- Conduct safety audits, inspections, and investigations to identify hazards and implement corrective actions.
- Educate employees on safe practices, provide safety training, and promote a positive safety culture.
- Monitor and analyze safety performance metrics, drive safety improvement projects, and collaborate with management.
- Maintain and update safety records, documentation, and ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
What do you bring…
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in a safety role within a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations, safety standards, and 5S principles.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills, including public speaking and conducting training sessions.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and safety management software.
