IDR is seeking a Medical Interpreter to join one of our top clients in Atlanta, Georgia. This role is crucial in providing language interpretation for limited English proficient (LEP) patients and families, ensuring their comprehension of medical procedures, treatment, and follow-up care. Position Overview/Responsibilities for the Medical Interpreter:
- Provide consecutive and/or simultaneous language interpretation for LEP patients and families
- Sight-translate relevant materials to enhance comprehension of medical procedures, treatment, discharge instructions, patient and family education, and follow-up care
- Work primarily at our client's Atlanta campus, with occasional travel to clinics (travel expenses reimbursed)
- This is a full-time, direct hire position
Required Skills for Medical Interpreter:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a medical interpreter in a hospital setting
- Proficiency in Spanish and English
- General knowledge of MS Office
- One of the following certifications: Certificate from a Medical Interpretation Program provided by a College, University, ALTA Language Services, Bridging the Gap, or Language Line Academy confirming successful completion of forty (40) to sixty (60) hours of Medical Interpreter Training OR Certification as a Certified Medical Interpreter (CMI) through the National Board of Certification for Medical Interpreters (NBCMI), or Certification Commission for Healthcare Interpreters (CCHI)
