We are seeking a highly experienced AI Lead to spearhead the development, implementation, and management of AI frameworks within our healthcare organization. This role demands a minimum of 12+ years of experience in technology, with a strong emphasis on AI, and data management. Additionally, the candidate must have prior experience in leading an AI Center of Excellence (CoE) and be capable of building a new AI team from the ground up. The AI Lead will be responsible to build AI solutions that are ethically sound, compliant with regulations, and aligned with our strategic objectives. This role requires a visionary leader who can drive AI innovation while maintaining a strong focus on governance, risk management, and team development.
Key Responsibilities:
AI Strategy and Implementation:
- Develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive AI framework that aligns with industry best practices and healthcare regulatory requirements.
- Lead the strategic planning and execution of AI policies, ensuring they support the organization’s business objectives, ethical standards, and regulatory compliance.
Building and Leading AI Team:
- Establish and lead an AI teams/pods, focused on driving excellence in AI strategy, governance, and deployment across the organization.
- Recruit, mentor, and manage a multidisciplinary AI team, building the team from the ground up.
- Foster a collaborative and innovative environment within the CoE, promoting best practices in AI development and deployment.
Training and Development:
Design and deliver training programs for the newly formed AI team, ensuring they are well-versed in AI governance, ethical AI practices, and regulatory compliance.
Stakeholder Engagement and Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, legal, compliance, IT, and business units, to ensure alignment on AI governance practices.
- Act as a liaison between the AI CoE and other departments, facilitating communication and collaboration on AI projects.
AI Policy Development:
- Draft, review, and update policies related to the use, development, and deployment of AI technologies within the organization.
- Stay informed of emerging trends and regulatory developments in AI governance and update organizational policies accordingly.
- 6AI Development, Performance Monitoring, and Continuous Improvement:
- Ensure AI solutions follow desired regulations and are scalable.
- Implement systems for continuous monitoring and evaluation of AI performance, ensuring models function as intended and produce reliable outcomes.
- Lead initiatives for AI model validation, testing, and ongoing maintenance, integrating feedback from the CoE.
Data Management and Security:
- Oversee data processes related to AI, ensuring data quality, security, and privacy.
- Collaborate with data management teams to establish protocols for data usage, storage, and access in AI projects.
Education:
Bachelor is degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field. A Master’s degree or AI/ML certification.
Experience:
- Minimum of 10+ years of experience in technology, data architecture, AI/ML, or a related field.
- Proven experience in leading AI processes or similar roles within a healthcare, pharmaceutical, or life sciences company.
- Strong background in building and managing teams, with a focus on training and development.
Technical Skills:
- Deep knowledge of AI/ML technologies, data architecture, and ethical implications of AI.
- Proficiency in AI/ML.
Leadership and Soft Skills:
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with experience managing cross-functional teams.
