INFUSION NURSE MANAGER JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Infusion Nurse Manager will report directly to the Director of Nursing. The Infusion Nurse Manager collaborates with the leadership team and other managers to maintain effective lines of communication with the multidisciplinary team. The Infusion Nursing Manager is responsible for implementation of procedures that provide the highest level of infusion care delivery in the home.
Job Requirements and Essential Functions
· Ability to effectively collaborate with the multidisciplinary team on new patient admissions, including nursing needs evaluation, initial assessment and patient education.
· Facilitate ongoing care coordination for all active patients of Heritage Biologics receiving nursing services, including nurse scheduling confirmation.
· Oversee and provide hands-on supervision of all infusion nurses, orientation of new nursing staff, and coordination of new and ongoing training.
· Serve as the primary liaison between Heritage Biologics and contracting nursing providers.
· Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, infusion therapy standards of practice regulatory changes (Infusion Nurses Society, INS), and new technologies in home infusion; applies this knowledge to communicate policy, procedure, and resource changes to the leadership team.
· Coordinate with accreditation committee to maintain nursing policies and procedures, including efforts to ensure they are updated with most recent evidence-based practices and accreditation standards.
· Implement plans to ensure all nursing documentation meets external accreditation and compliance standards.
· Develop assessment tools to assist in measuring the performance of Heritage Biologics staff nurses and contracted nursing agency partners
· Perform yearly performance evaluations for all direct report staff, in coordination with Director of Nursing
· Support the Executive Leadership and/or management team on various projects and goals, as needed.
· Demonstrate a high degree of responsibility regarding accuracy and quality of work, ensuring excellent time management and organizational skills.
· Support the Plano, TX pharmacy branch by serving as the Supervising Nurse, pursuant to the Licensing Standards for Home and Community Support Services Agencies (HCSSA).
· Complete Initial Educational Training and Continuing Education in Administration of Agencies, as required (§558.259, §558.260)
· This role requires access to Protected Health Information (PHI) and Electronic Protected Health Information (EPHI).
Required Qualifications
· Registered Nurse; must maintain an active and unrestricted nursing license in Kansas, Missouri, and Texas, preferably with a Compact Agreement
· Minimum 4 years nursing experience in an infusion setting, home infusion setting preferred
· Competency in placement of peripheral IV catheters and accessing central venous access devices
· Must maintain active BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification from American Heart Association (note: online certification is not accepted; must complete skills check off in person)
· Understanding of standard clinical procedures and nursing rules and regulations
· Valid state driver’s license, reliable automobile and proof of current automobile insurance
· Excellent and effective communication skills, both verbally and in writing
· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
· Functional knowledge and use of electronic medical record systems
Preferred Qualifications
· Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree
· Experience with infusing biologics and specialty pharmaceutical products
· CRNI, IgCN or other infusion credentialing
· Meet the qualifications and conditions for the Supervising Nurse set out in the Texas Administrative Code Minimum Standards for all Home and Community Support Services Agencies (HCSSA)

Physical Requirements and Screenings
· Ability to lift and carry a minimum of 30 pounds
· Physical screening complete with no limitations to performing job duties
· Negative drug screen before start of first day
· Immunizations, as required
· Prior negative TB test and TB test/screening annually
· Hepatitis B complete vaccination series or declination form

Travel and Work Location
· In-office during business hours (unless providing coverage in the field) to allow for the highest level of collaboration with other departments
· Travel to patient homes for patient infusions as determined by the needs of the department, which includes providing backup infusion visit coverage, or IV access troubleshooting on a PRN basis.
· Participation in the Nursing department on-call rotation
Nursing Continuing Education and License Considerations
All RNs are responsible for keeping up with their own Continuing Education hours, if needed. If at any point the RN is placed on probation or faces threat of losing their license, it is he/she’s responsibility to notify their administrator immediately. RNs must practice within the scope of their practice, as laid out by the state board of nursing. RNs are responsible for knowing and practicing within this scope.
If at any point any licenses or certifications are lapsed/not current, the employee will be suspended without pay. The employee has 10 days from date of suspension to make licenses and/or certifications current; otherwise the employee will be terminated.
Other Duties
The Infusion Nurse Manager will be responsible for carrying out specified duties outlined in a framework provided by the Director of Nursing which includes daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual required duties.
